Intercession - contributed by Sandra Griffin ©

Sometimes, I water my bed with tears
As, in self pity, I do plead,
"How long, O God, most Holy,
Must I cry out in my need?

How long is this suffering to go on?
Are You far from my voice?
Do You not see my agony
Over which I have no choice?

O Lord, hide not Yourself from me.
Visit with Your Holy Spirit,
As I pray and cry out to Thee.
Are You there? Can You not hear it?

Have I a sin that stands between
My prayers and One so Holy as You?
Hear my painful supplication.
Show me, in Thy word, what I must do."

So often, my prayers are thus.
When it's intercession that I need,
Let others do the asking for me,
Forgetting self, for others I should plead ...

Putting self aside and making
Less mention of my own pain.
Forgive me, Lord, of selfishness.
Return to my heart, to rule and reign.

Make me ever mindful
There are others that suffer more.
Help me see a wider view
Than I ever had before.

Let me look beyond this moment,
Yet borrow nothing from tomorrow,
So that I might rise from this occasion
To pass this present sorrow.

Guard my heart, O Spirit of the Living God.
Arise, prick my soul to praise.
For, in my worship,
Bring such blessings to my days.

Father, I know You owe not a thing.
The time You have allotted me is blest.
Thank You and forgive my sin
And teach me to find, in You, my rest.

So, I pray, dear Lord,
For friends that have a greater need.
Healing I pray for them.
For, it's now, with tears, that I intercede.

Another Day - contributed by Marian Jones ©

Another day, another trial
Seems more than I can bear;
Alone, tired, and weary ~
Not a soul around to care.

Dear Father, take this load.
Just give me time to rest.
Renew my flagging spirit,
While I face another test.

I will find a quiet spot
Where I can kneel and pray
And ask You for more strength,
To get me through each day.

However dark the weeks become,
When pain becomes too much,
I'll cast my burden on You
And feel Your healing touch.

Without You by my side,
My life has no meaning at all.
Hold me closer to your heart
And hear me when I call.

When the Road is Long - contributed by Marian Jones ©

When the road of life seems long,
Bringing sorrow at each bend,
Remember God is close to you.
On His love you can depend.

We often go through darkness
And fall into deep despair.
Yet, we're never left alone,
With a heavy cross to bear.

Just look towards tomorrow,
With hope deep in your heart.
The road will get much smoother.
You can make a brand new start.

So, never get downhearted,
When your troubles last a while.
Know that God is guiding you
As He walks with you each mile.

Tomorrow - contributed by Marian Jones ©

Whenever you're tired and weary
And life seems full of sorrow,
Don't fall into dark despair.
Pray for a better tomorrow.

Look back to times long since gone,
When troubles came your way.
But, after the storm clouds cleared,
God gave you a brighter day.

If we dwell too much in the past,
When we found it hard to cope,
Our hearts will be sad and heavy ~
When we should be clinging to hope.

Hope for a brighter tomorrow,
When all our troubles will cease.
Through God's mercy and grace,
He fills our hearts with His peace.

Hear My Prayer - contributed by Marian Jones ©

Dear Lord, my load is heavy,
My heart filled with despair.
I need a friend to guide me.
This burden I must share.

I know You're there, beside me,
And my sorrow can't last long.
But, help me not to weaken.
It's important I keep strong.

When my faith is flagging,
It's hard to face each day.
I pray to You for strength
To keep my fears at bay.

I know You won't desert me.
Dear Father, hear my prayer.
For, somewhere in my heart,
You will place the answer there.

Peace - contributed by Marian Jones ©

Close your eyes and open your heart.
Relax and let your worries depart.
Know that the Father is caring for you,
Giving you strength to carry you through.

Ask for His guidance, as you live each day,
Trusting in Him to show you the way.
Soon you will find your worries all cease,
Bringing you joy through God's perfect peace.
